Coastland is seeking a fully qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Nanaimo Operation located on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC.
Job Duties
- Safely complete routine maintenance and repair on heavy duty and manufacturing equipment including forklifts, wheel loaders, boom boats, and log loaders
- Diagnose equipment breakdowns to determine required repairs
- Clean and lubricate equipment
- Be flexible with shift schedules including overtime and weekend shifts
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Develop and foster positive working relationships with colleagues through constructive communication and a willingness to educate staff
- Other mechanical repair work as required
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification, or equivalent
- Minimum five years' experience in the trade
- Must have your own basic tools for the job
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift heavy materials in excess of 75lbs
