Senior Communications and Marketing Manager (Workplace Health & Safety)

Location:

Vancouver based, Hybrid (1-2 days/month in office)

Requirements:
  1. 8+ years' experience in Communications/Marketing
  2. Change management experience, ideally in government/public sector
  3. 5+ years of management experience in a high-volume, high-pressure environment
  4. Issues management and stakeholder relations knowledge
  5. Skilled in writing engaging communications and marketing materials
  6. Experience in developing strategies to shift behaviors and attitudes
  7. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  8. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint
  9. Able to transform unstructured information into readable documents
  10. University Degree in business, Communications, or Marketing
Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Senior Manager Communications & Marketing is responsible for providing strategic advice and support for initiatives that align with organizational priorities. Develops communication strategies, implements tactics, and supports plain language, editorial, and visual standards.

The role plays a key part in reputation management and development. Advises senior management on Prevention (Workplace Health and Safety) strategies, creates communication plans, consults on messaging, and promotes the organization's priorities internally and externally.

Works with the management team to plan departmental activities that align with organizational priorities, manages projects, evaluates outcomes, and ensures client relationships are well-managed. Advocates for plain-language practices to ensure clear communication with diverse audiences.

Monitors effectiveness of plans, coordinates organization-wide communications, prepares reports, and supports the team in achieving strategic objectives. Familiarity with regulatory environments related to workplace health and safety is required.
