Responsibilities

  • Undertake research to identify legislative updates impacting payroll compliance and maintain a repository of all the relevant legislation
  • Provide timely risk/impact assessment of the changes
  • Configure the payroll system based on the data collected and ensure a thorough test to confirm the correctness of the calculations based on the laws of each country.
  • Develop, test and verify the reports integrated into the payroll system.
  • Work closely with the Payroll teams, providing support and guidance, and continuous training on areas of Payroll Compliance.
  • Provide consistent quality of customer service and support on PGi's products and services with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Accurately perform all changes or additions to Company set up with complete follow up to clients, including clear and concise instructions.
  • Learn, understand, maintain and contribute to internal support processes. Proactively seek ways to provide a better service experience for clients, recommending enhancements to products and support processes.
  • Manage biweekly/semimonthly/monthly payroll processes; prepare payroll submissions for premium service clients, and thoroughly review and reconcile changes for these payrolls.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in payroll or compliance
  • Strong knowledge of federal/provincial employment laws in Canada
  • Strong knowledge of federal/state/local employment laws in US
  • Strong research skills including analysis of information from different sources
  • Ability to dive deep into details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Selfmotivated with ability to take a project from beginning to end with some direction
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including process documentation development and delivery
