What you will do
Our

Toronto

office is seeking undergraduate students to join the team as a

co-op student or full-time hire in Fall 2023 as a part of our

Deal Advisory practice.

Our Valuations Team:


With over 100 dedicated valuation professionals, you'll be part of a team that can quickly mobilize to help meet clients' needs, whether local or international.

Employing a rigorous valuation approach, our team invests the time required to understand the client's business and applies a robust process and sophisticated, tailored valuation techniques to every engagement.


You will assist in preparing valuation assignments in support of transactions, financial reporting, and other services across a diverse range of industries.

You will also work with other members of the Valuations practice to model and price complex financial instruments (mainly derivatives and fixed income).


  • You will be involved in the preparation of valuation models for engagements
  • Support the KPMG Audit Practice in connection with various valuation assertions in the course of their audit
  • Support managers on multiple engagements and successfully complete client deliverables of varying size, scope and complexity
  • Perform financial analyses, build financial models for various engagements e.g. employee incentive plans, carried interest, and complex stock options
  • Conduct industry and economic research
  • Write/edit reports and memorandums, including preparation of tables and graphs, documentation of work performed and conclusions
  • Engage with cross functional engagement teams comprised of diverse backgrounds and skill sets

**What you bring to the role

  • Professional accreditation or working toward professional accreditation (e.g. CPA, CBV, CFA, FRM, or PRM) is an asset
  • Quantitative skills as evidenced by a degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering/Mathematical Finance/Mathematics or equivalent
  • Effective writing skills and ability to communicate with internal and external clients
  • Valuation experience and prior advisory experience is an asset
  • An interest in learning about derivatives valuation principles and techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills and problemsolving abilities with a cando mindset
  • Goaloriented approach with meticulous attention to detail and dedication to outstanding quality of work
  • Ability to think creatively and critically to find solutions to unusual client circumstances and anticipated risk
