Technical Project Deployment Specialist

Position Summary:


The RVH Regional Informatics & Technology Services Team is seeking a highly driven and organized individual with a passion for Technology.

Our multidisciplinary team provides support to a partnership of 4 hospitals and many community healthcare groups, leading and supporting provincial, regional and site-specific projects.

The Technical Project Deployment Specialist will be an integral part of the overall advancement of technology for our partnership, joining a dynamic team of highly skilled and innovative staff who endeavour to bring the best in Digital Health to our region.


The Technical Project Deployment Specialist leads IT project teams to successfully complete technology & informatics projects on time, within scope, and within budget and quality parameters.

The role is responsible for the implementation of assigned IT projects/initiatives that may require broad multidisciplinary, regional, and provincial engagement.

Projects assigned will include operational, regional and Regional Digital Health Strategy initiatives.


The Technical Project Deployment Specialist leads IT projects providing project management, operational, and administrative support to the project team, sponsor, champion, and Regional Portfolio Management Lead.

The role will focus on projects, parts of projects, and/or sub-projects with scope development, scheduling, organizing, data gathering, progress updating, record-keeping, and reporting.

Data quality in the PMIS (Project Management Information System - SharePoint Library) will be an operational responsibility, requiring proactive communication across a diverse set of teams, partnership hospitals, and cultures to ensure project updates are accurately reflected.

As part of the Portfolio Management team, the Technical Project Deployment Specialist assists in supporting project intake processes for Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the regional partnership of hospitals and updates the project portfolio tools as necessary to ensure accurate and up to date information is available for reporting.

The Technical Project Deployment Specialist will make project and portfolio reports presentation-ready to assist the Regional Portfolio Management Lead to validate and harmonize communications.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum 3year College/University diploma or degree in a relevant field.
  • CAPM certification minimum requirement.
  • PMP is preferred.
  • ITIL certification is preferred.
  • Change management certification is preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years leading technology related projects with proven use of project management tools & techniques
  • 2+ years leading & maintaining effective teams and successful working relationships.
  • 35 years experience supporting and implementing enterprisegrade technical solutions (Infrastructure/Networking/Interfacing)
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools & techniques
  • Experience in system and end user workflow process mapping
  • Experience in an acute care setting implementing Healthcare technology preferred.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, using effective organizational and prioritization in a complex, fastpaced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication & presentation skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).

Responsibilities:

Coordination of IT Projects & Activities

  • Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling and close out of ITS projects in alignment with industry best practices and project management methodologies
  • Completing projects on time, on budget and within scope, ensuring defined quality objectives for providers, staff and patients is executed successfully with robust documentation.
  • Communication and collaboration with a broad range of stakeholder groups
  • Leading/guiding multidisciplinary teams to positive outcomes and building effective professional relationships
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously.

Project Management Information Systems/Regional Project Intake

  • Assist in receiving, categorizing/cataloguing project intake requests on behalf of the RVH Regional ITS team.
  • Working with the Regional Portfolio Management Lead to ensure that all projects are adequately documented in the PMIS.
