THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking a Completions Engineer, Technical to join our Technical Completions team and to be responsible for frac support, diagnostic analysis, data analytical support and interdisciplinary projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Frac design, modelling and execution:

  • Frac execution design such as fluid intensity, chemical loadings, and sand schedule
  • Frac modelling and interdisciplinary collaboration with teams on frac and stage designs
  • Daily frac reviews and placement schedule optimization
  • Support and technical guidance on service provider RFPs
  • Operational support as required for completions operations

Diagnostics, new technologies, and data analytics:

  • Identify opportunities for improved workflow process, including identification for tool or dashboard creation and data collection
  • Conduct technical analysis of diagnostic projects and new technology implementation
  • Conduct risk assessments on new technology and process changes
  • When required, attend any fit and function testing of equipment and new technology roll-outs
  • Stay apprised of the latest developments in the industry in terms of new tools, technology, or learnings through participation in technical courses, conferences, seminars, literature, and service provider engagement
  • Participate in the RFP process as applicable while supporting the Completions Superintendents and Completions Technical team

Asset team support and collaboration:

  • Participate in asset team discussions and provide input as a subject matter expert in completions engineering
  • Competitor analysis when applicable
  • Support as required other teams such as the Water Group, Production, Drilling and Geology with implementation and trials of new technology and field trials candidate selection, cost estimations and budget preparation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

The candidate we seek is a professional engineer with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, which includes at least 3 years of directly related completions experience. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong safety leadership skills and presence
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Technical expertise and familiarity with completions operations including:
    • Frac operations and design
    • Wellhead design
    • Casing design
  • Technical and software experience including:
    • Frac Modelling: Kinetix, GOPHER or ResFrac would be an asset
    • Casing Design: WellCat would be an asset
  • Geomechanics: Strong fundamental understanding would be an asset
  • Data analytics:
    • Collaborate with internal data analytics team in solving completions and interdisciplinary problems
    • Competency in an analytics platform such as Spotfire and Power BI
    • Training in statistical analysis and coding ability with Python or SQL would be an asset
