Minimum Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Director of Reactor Components and Mechanical Engineering Division, the Technical Engineering Manager – Fuel Channel will handle large-scale projects such as C3/4 new build.
- Providing technical leadership in Fuel Channel and Vessel design engineering, including preparing technical specifications, drawings, design specifications, bill of materials, and design certifications.
- Ensuring compliance with contract documents, quality requirements, and customer needs.
- Assisting in proposal preparation for engineering scope support.
- Making decisions on project resources and maintaining the necessary skills and experience within the project team.
- Mentoring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
- Planning work with Project Director (PD) and Project Engineering Director (PED) to ensure resource availability and progress reporting.
- Reviewing and approving project-related documents and drawings.
- Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize work.
- Providing leadership in structural and fuel channel stress analysis engineering.
- Interfacing with regulatory bodies as required.
- Forming and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Addressing scope changes and critical issues, engaging additional help if needed.
- Establishing good working relationships within the company and with external parties.
- Providing clear expectations, performance measures, feedback, and recognition to the team.
- Making decisions on human resource issues and managing work performance problems.

Qualifications:
- University bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of technical experience.
- Understanding CANDU reactor design and design of CANDU Fuel Channel and Vessel systems.
- Skills in managing technical projects and leading teams in Fuel Channel and Vessel design.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients, organizations, and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and understanding of quality assurance procedures.
- Knowledge of registration processes, piping, classical stress calculation, CSA N285, ASME Section III, and ASME III appendix XXIII.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis techniques and codes such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA.
- Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or eligible for registration.
- Good time management skills and willingness to visit project sites as needed.
