About the Position

The Donor Services Coordinator ensures a donor-centered experience for supporters of The Salvation Army, aiding in successful fundraising strategies by handling gift receipts, sending appreciation letters, financial reconciliation, report generation, expense management, and supporting various forms of giving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor-Centered Service

  • Organize donor receipts, process donation-related paperwork, send thank you letters, and reconcile donations
  • Manage In-Memoriam and tribute gifts
  • Offer timely and friendly responses to donor inquiries and requests

Leadership & Legacy Giving

  • Research potential prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Stay updated on philanthropy and business trends to identify potential donors
  • Prepare various reports and assist in fundraising strategies
  • Recommend appropriate contacts or visits for development staff
  • Support development officers in various activities
  • Stay current with philanthropic trends

Finance & Administration

  • Handle donation preparation, delivery, and deposit
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Development
  • Maintain department files and organize team meetings
  • Keep track of development calendar and key dates
  • Conduct data entry and generate reports using Raiser's Edge NXT
  • Research and update donor information
  • Ensure compliance with donation guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary diploma of 2 to 3 years in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Three years of experience in donor relations or customer service using Raiser's Edge NXT or similar CRM systems

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data entry skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on donors
  • High integrity, ability to maintain relationships and trust
  • Self-motivated, deadline-oriented, and committed to professional development
  • Adherence to organizational values and ethics

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $48,553 to $60,691, with potential growth up to $72,829 based on market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
