Position Purpose


We are searching for a Marketing Communications Coordinator with outstanding organizational, research and project management skills to join our team.

Your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, from writing, editing, and repurposing copy to fit different communication channels and managing ACSA's social media accounts to developing and fostering vendor relations and an employee ambassador program.

With guidance from the Manager, you will develop, implement and manage communication plans.

Major Accountabilities

  • Own, manage and implement ACSA's newsletter and website content
  • Write and edit engaging copy for a wide range of communication channels, including website, digital advertising, social media, traditional media, and more
  • Support the development of communications tools (both online and offline), key messages and media/public relations plans and/or activities
  • Guide and manage external vendors and agencies to ensure that projects are in alignment with the ACSA's brand strategy and business objectives
  • Edit copy for and provide feedback to other departments as needed
  • Research, manage and create content for ACSA social media pages and the organization's digital publication _ACSA Update_
  • Measure and evaluate communication strategies and tactics, and share results, recommendations, and lessons learned with internal clients
  • Find, recommend, and attend construction
- and safety-related events and tradeshows to increase ACSA's profile across Alberta and to promote ACSA courses and training to stakeholders

  • Manage and update website content as required
  • Some travel required
  • Some evenings and weekends required

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong writing and editing skills with proficiency in creating clear, concise and engaging messages that resonate with stakeholders
  • Experience in writing and editing for both digital and traditional platforms
  • Strong project management skills
  • Previous experience in managing and measuring social media accounts is strongly preferred
  • Experience with photography and/or videography is an asset
  • Experience with WordPress, LinkedIn and Facebook advertising and Google Ads is an asset

Education Requirements

  • Diploma and/or bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, public relations, marketing, business or related field. We will consider a suitable combination of other education and relevant work experience.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in an agency or a communications role within a business setting
