Aplin has partnered with an Edmonton-based company to hire a Project Manager to join their team

Provide project management rigor to large, complex, and/or politically sensitive strategic initiatives that are not solely IT in nature.

Identify issues or opportunities in the business, and manage the introduction of or changes to service delivery, policy, or legislation.

Create and implement new products, programs, or business improvements, and support other organizational transformations.

Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, delivery, and close, ensuring business needs, quality standards, and data integrity are achieved.

Collaborate with the business to develop well-defined proposals, project charters, project plans, and other planning documents, including project objectives, scope, assumptions, timeline, risks, benefits, budget, and resource requirements.

Manage multiple projects, project resources, and project governance.
Work with project leads to develop a project organization structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

Develop strategies, manage projects, and coordinate project team activities to achieve project goals, scope, budget, schedule, quality, and other performance standards.

Identify project milestones, critical success factors, dependencies, policy and program implications, metrics, and resource requirements.
Contribute to project deliverables, such as research, survey design, drafting report writing, to support quality and timely delivery.
Regularly monitor, document, and report on project progress against the plan.
Plan, lead, and participate in internal project team meetings, project stakeholder meetings, and steering committee meetings.
coordinate sign-offs and communicate changes with sponsor, management, team leads, and working groups/committees.
Ensure that issues, risks, and opportunities are proactively identified and develop strategies to address them.
Provide high-level business or process analysis, change management, and communication support to the team as required.
Complete proper hand-over of project outputs, including all relevant project documentation, to the business area.

In collaboration with project sponsors, assess whether the project achieved stated outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement for future projects.

Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Proven experience in managing large, complex, and politically sensitive strategic initiatives.
Strong ability to oversee all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, delivery, and close.
Skilled in developing project proposals, charters, plans, and other planning documents.
Experience in managing multiple projects and project governance.
Ability to develop project organization structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
Strong strategic planning, project management, and team coordination skills.
Proficient in identifying project milestones, critical success factors, and resource requirements.
Excellent documentation, monitoring, and reporting skills.
Effective in planning and leading project meetings.
Ability to manage changes in project scope, budget, or schedule.
Proactive in identifying and addressing project issues, risks, and opportunities.
Strong business or process analysis, change management, and communication skills.
Experience in completing project handovers and assessing project outcomes.
