We are currently searching for a
Guest Service Ambassador to join our frontline team on a part time basis. This role is paid a wage of
$20.01 per hour (plus gratuities).

We require open availability to be able to work a combination of shifts that will include overnights which are paid at a premium rate**.
Position Description

  • Represent the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver by being the first and last impression for our guests
  • Greet all guests arriving by vehicle or by foot and clearly direct guest to registration area
  • Responsible for the delivery of Guest Luggage and any other items to guest room
  • Conduct rooming introductions for all guests checking in to communicate room controls and features
  • Ensure the timely and efficient transfer of luggage to and from the guest's room
  • Provide valet parking service to guests of the hotel, spa and restaurant.
  • Ensure all entrances are free and clear of congestion for arrival and departure of guest vehicles.
  • Move and organize vehicles on the hotel driveway
  • Parks and retrieve all guest vehicles
  • Complete thorough walk around of guests vehicles prior to parking and highlight any damage on corresponding valet parking ticket
  • To be noticeably positioned at hotel entrance to provide luggage assistance upon arrival, and departure and assist with the loading and unloading of luggage and ensure that it is sent to the location requested by the guest
  • Provide guests with information and answers to questions about Hotel facilities such as; meeting facilities, dining options, local visitor and tourist attractions, and transportation information
  • Provide luggage storage options for hotel guests
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Undertakes other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required
  • Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity within another luxury or upscale hotel brand is an asset

Valid BC Drivers License is required:

  • Valid SIR (Serving it Right) Certificate is an asset and requirement for the role
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, mornings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts, as required
