CJSR is Edmonton's listener-supported, volunteer-powered campus and community radio station.

Responsibilities of this position:

The Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (1) assists with the essential tasks related to the preparation for our annual fundraising campaign, FunDrive, and focuses on securing contracts for our Friends of CJSR Card Program

Specifically, they:

  • Contact current Friends Card businesses and confirm involvement for 2023/2024 and update CJSR's Friends business contracts
  • Seek out new businesses to add to Friends Card
  • Update the Friends of CJSR webpage, Google site, app, and other online forms
  • Audit the Friends of CJSR app
  • Solicit pledge incentives for the fundraiser (daily prizes)
  • Update and maintain a fundraising database of all CJSR FunDrive contributors/business donors
  • Generate ideas for yearround fundraising events and campaigns
  • Design and implement marketing campaigns to inform the public about the CJSR FunDrive and other fundraising events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have own access to computer, phone, and internet
  • Strong communicator (open, fun and professional approach)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others
  • Selfmotivated, enthusiastic, reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, hectic environment with a minimum of supervision
  • Experience using Word and Google Docs
  • Prior experience volunteering with CJSR is an asset, but not required
  • Experience working with and coordinating volunteers is an asset
  • Experience promoting organizations or businesses at community events is an asset
  • Experience working for nonprofit, community organizations is an asset
  • Graphic design and layout experience is an asset
  • University of Alberta students and recent graduates may be given preference

Terms:

  • 30 hours a week (through summer)
- $16.04/hour

  • This position is contingent on funding from the Canada Summer Jobs program. You must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment. International students do not qualify under this funding program. Please indicate how you meet these criteria in your cover letter.
