We are looking for a Business Development Manager at our Canada branch. The work location will be Mississauga, Ontario. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and an ambitious heart to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

As the Business Development Specialist for the assigned airfreight market, your primary responsibilities include:

Achieving Sales Targets: Strategically drive business development efforts to achieve sales budgets and ensure the successful collection of freight charges.Customer Engagement: Cultivate relationships with potential customers, expanding your network within the industry.

Solution-Oriented Approach: Identify clients' unique needs and present new services, as well as promote existing services, tailoring solutions to both new and existing customers.Lead Generation: Generate business leads through proactive outreach, including cold calls, emails, and on-site visits, converting leads into sales opportunities.

Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and industrial requirements, translating insights into effective communication of rates and action plans for customers and the management team.Service Enhancement: Enhance customer satisfaction by adapting and improving products and service levels.

Sales Collaterals: Prepare sales proposals, execute sales presentations, and create and adapt marketing materials to support sales efforts.Relationship Building: Build enduring, trust-based relationships with clients and actively seek new business opportunities within the market.

Sales Reporting: Set up budgets and sales targets, reporting weekly activities and pipeline status to the branch manager, with a focus on achieving sales results.Credit Management: Establish terms and credit agreements with new customers and ensure timely payment collection in line with agreed terms.Adaptability: Undertake other sales-related tasks as assigned by management, showcasing a flexible and solution-oriented approach.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of cargo sales experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.Education: A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.

Operational Background: Familiarity with operational aspects of the industry is highly valued.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Team Player: A collaborative spirit and a strong ability to work effectively within a team.

Language Skills: Fluent in English, with proficiency in other languages is considered an asset.Driving License: A valid driving license is required.
