Your role:


The Internal Consultants Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, managing and coaching a National team of Regional Consultants (RC).

You will direct their activities and work closely with sales management and staff to set meaningful objectives aligned with ETF and Full-Service Brokerage business plans that strive to increase sales, grow assets and develop intermediary relationships with Financial Advisors across the nation.

The Internal Consultants Manager will oversee the creation and execution of sales plans for all responsible territories, stay current on market/ETF changes in order to relay this information back to staff, communicate operational or product changes, as necessary, and work with Human Resources in regards to staffing, performance, employee development and corrective action.


You will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for assisting in the execution of the established channel clientcentric plans
  • Align with RA Team Lead in directing their efforts to the firms and advisors that have been highlighted as the best strategic opportunities
  • Will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with all Canadian business departments to leverage resources
  • Work with Regional Managers to implement sales desk strategy which ensures RCs can effectively drive Canadian Sales objectives based on market trends, client insight and coordinated clientcentric engagement
  • Responsible for ensuring RCs are properly trained and licensed to perform their responsibilities
  • Provides guidance on future skill requirements as it relates to career development
  • Daily focus on coaching, training and educating team of RCs
  • Develop and implements best practices, standards and procedures as well as monitor adherence including compliance with local, provincial and federal requirements
  • Provides performance feedback to the RCs on a regular basis in addition to the Invesco Performance Management Process
  • Oversees that contact management systems are maintained to monitor sales efforts, client contacts, product campaigns, and to ensure availability of timely literature
  • Participates in programs which raise the caliber and effectiveness of the sales team through training on investment processes, portfolio construction principles and consultative selling techniques
  • Responsible for ongoing awareness of current events, industry trends and legislation within the industry
  • Responsible for knowledge of all compliance rules and regulation particularly supervisory responsibilities as they pertain to the registered RCs

The experience you bring:

  • 35 years previous sales management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management or related field
  • CSC required and IFIC or other industry related courses, preferred
  • A recognized financial planning oriented designation (CFP, RFP), or progress toward, preferred
  • Leadership and communication is essential, as is a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Setting and implementing strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Marketing and analytical skills required to develop and follow through on strategy and business plans
