Job Description The Mechanical Estimator, reporting to the Construction Department Manager, is responsible for identifying and managing tender opportunities to successfully secure bids and proposals for Commercial/Industrial and high-rise Residential jobs in the Ontario Region.
This role will oversee pricing and estimating for bid & spec projects, design-build projects, and budgets.Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Searches for new tendering opportunities.
Identifies labour, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Computes costs by analyzing labour, materials, and time requirements.
Manages the tender closings.
Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data on CRM.Conducts take-offs.
Investigate and quote special projects.
Attends site meetings.
Fosters and maintains positive relations and communications with clients, co-workers, and subcontractors.
All other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
Working Conditions:
Travel may be required to carry out an onsite investigation.
Ability to attend and conduct presentations and meetings.
Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
Overtime as required.
Lifting or moving up to 20 lbs may be required.
Tools & Technology:
Mobile and laptop computerMS Office suite software (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS CRM)Experience working with Trimble and Accubid would be an asset.
