To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for an Occupational Therapist to support our Rehabilitation Department at our Mount Sinai Hospital. The caseload for this role will primarily support patients in: General Internal Medicine and Surgery but could also include other inpatient areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties
- Assessment, planning and therapeutic intervention for an assigned patient caseload according to Occupational Therapy scope of practice
- Appropriate documentation of Occupational Therapy activities
- Record workload measurement
- Participation in inter-professional clinics and rounds
- Facilitation of therapy groups
- Program development and evaluation
Teaching Duties
- Participate in teaching activities for Occupational Therapy students, including provision of clinical placements, laboratory teaching, and classroom teaching
- Participate in teaching students from other disciplines
- Participate in development of student programs
- Provide in-service education as appropriate to colleagues
Research Duties
- Participate in research activities as appropriate within the Department of Rehabilitation in collaboration with other departments/professions
- Experience with administering cognitive assessments (MOCA, MMSE) an asset
- Currently registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario in good standing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent occupational therapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups
- Demonstrated excellent skills in collaboration with inter-professional team
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
