We are currently looking for a skilled and committed Audiovisual Technician to join our esteemed hospital's technical support team.

As an Audiovisual Technician, you will play a pivotal role in guaranteeing the smooth functioning, upkeep, and resolution of issues related to audiovisual equipment used across different hospital settings.

This role demands a solid technical foundation, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with hospital staff to fulfill their audiovisual requirements.

You will report to the IT manager and work closely with the IT team, who will serve as your backup.


Responsibilities:

1.

Equipment installation and Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain audiovisual equipment, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, video conferencing systems, and related hardware. Ensure all audiovisual equipment is properly connected and functioning optimally, adhering to hospital guidelines and safety standards.

2.

Stryker equipment support in operating room:

Compliant with best practices, verify consent from patient for medical photography permission

Tolerance of surgery environment:
(see blood, tissues, open wounds, nudity, and odors). Punctual support for a few hours.

3.

Other Stryker duties:


  • Proprietary AV systems with matrix, DVI, VGA, HD-SDI connections.
  • Rooms will turn AVOverIP in few year (new contract in 4 years)
  • Able to do requests to Stryker customer service call center and followup.
  • Grab patient case, unidentified them with Photoshop batch process with Photoshop is an interesting option

4.

Conference rooms:


  • Punctual event support over regular schedule hours.
  • Being aware of Teams, Zoom and regular videoconference by joining RUISS McGill bridge with video conferencing device.(SIP, SPARK protocol, etc) or a mix of all of them (knowledge of room connector option for teams and zoom)
  • Being at ease with semipro camera video recording or use the Ubuntu capture card hardware for capturing presentation. (Knowledge of OBS Studio software)
  • Knowledge of Crestron devices of DM series (video matrix, controller, touchscreens, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Crestron basic programing with "simpl windows" and "vision tools"
  • Knowledge of Clearone converge 1st generation digital sound processors (DSP) and its software Converge Console.

5.

Other skills needed:


  • Able to use software to draw up layout of conference room events
  • Able to explain technical setups simply to nontechnical staff
  • At ease with different type of customer base.
  • Selfcontrol in possible tense environments (I.E. Board meetings are very important, and all technology must work)
  • Collaboration with IT network team for device integration
  • Collaboration with Maintenance department for physical installation and room layout.
  • Train hospital staff on the proper us of audiovisual equipment.

6.

Events support:


  • Provide technical support for hospital events, meetings, conferences and presentations that involve audiovisual equipment. (Set up and ensure all functions).
  • Provide minor photography and video work as the production of video montages.

7.

Inventory Management:


  • Maintain accurate inventory records of audiovisual equipment, including tracking usage, repairs and replacements.
  • Assis in procurement of new equipment as needed.

8.

Collaboration with communication department:


  • Video preproduction (draw image scenarios)
  • Video production
  • Video postproduction and video editing

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in French; proficiency in English, an asset (written and spoken)
  • Must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Electronics Technology with a specialization in Audiovisual from a school recognized by the appropriate ministry.
  • Proven experience as an Audiovisual Technician or similar role.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting audio and video signal issues, connectivity problems and software issues.
