The Big Picture - this position in TSSA


Reporting to the - Manager, Procurement, this position supports our organization in its journey to becoming a Modern outcome-based regulator.


  • As Procurement Intern, you will work closely with the Manager, Procurement and the Procurement Specialist on procurement processes and documentation. You will support communications with vendors and internal stakeholders. You will collaborate with other procurement and finance team members to support analysis, sourcing, evaluation and selection of suppliers, manage ongoing relationships, implement demand and compliance measures and manage department data within the various systems that are utilized.
  • You will also work towards enhancing our effectiveness by creating data metrices and building reports. As our Procurement Intern, you will require strong detail orientation, problemsolving and analytical skills.

What you will do?

  • Facilitate the contract approval process in alignment with TSSA internal requirements and Delegation of Authority (DOA) policy.
  • Maintain/administer procurement records retention and maintains accurate procurement and financial records for the purposes of tracking and audit. This includes data and file management.
  • Drafting procurement documents (RFx), Award Letters etc using preestablished templates
  • Supporting the Procurement Department with RFx evaluations
  • Support procurement activities in our system(s).
  • Compile performance data for new and existing vendors.
  • Assist the Procurement Specialist in the maintenance and administration of the Procurement Policy.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field (Public Administration, Business, Finance, Purchasing) requiredDemonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical competencies (e.g., office management practices and procedures)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word and PPT is a definite asset
