Position Overview:

Deliver exceptional impact in three main areas of focus: 1. Produce high-quality research 2. Demonstrate IO's expertise to government key partners and wider audiences 3. Establish an explicit channel for knowledge dissemination.

Manage Infrastructure Ontario's research plan involving the identification and management of research topics, opportunities, external partnerships, and technical forums, as well as management of research portfolios in accordance with core business challenges and research questions as determined by IO executive management.
-
Support leadership teams in the management of third-party researchers, academic institutions, and engagement of stakeholders throughout IO necessary for the execution of the research plan.
-
Manage the process required to refine and deliver final research products (in conjunction with partnership steam, agency governance, and IO business lines) to senior audiences both within and external to IO.
What You Will Do:

Lead the development of research products by creating innovative and meaningful research material that leverage and build upon IO's expanding expertise.

Work with the Director of Research, the VP of Partnerships, Research and Insights as well as the Executive Management Team, to develop a research agenda that is applicable to IO's body of work, draws on the organization's strengths and is forward-looking.

Serve as an ambassador for IO and the research function, facilitating the formation of partnerships between public and private sector organizations and demonstrating IO's growing expertise.

Implement continuous engagement between IO's business lines and the Partnerships, Research, and Insights group, as well as engagement with external existing and potential partners.
What We Are Looking For:

Masters or
Bachelor's Degree:
Solid professional work experience in research or economic analysis in academia, consulting, government, or NGO- Ability to creatively retrieve, manipulate, summarize, and present complex information with excellent search skills on web sources and electronic databases
- Excellent problemsolving, analytical, and quantitative skills and ability to and present datadriven insights and trends
- Detailoriented with ability to identify key patterns, trends and/or inconsistencies when working with numbers
- Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly present ideas and insights
- Selfstarter, able to manage time and anticipate bottlenecks
- Highly inquisitive and creative individual with desire to work in a crossfunctional environment
Nice to have:

Masters or PhD specialization in Planning, Geography, Public Policy, Economics, Business, or related fields
- Experience handling
statistical software packages such as R, SPSS, or SAS, STATA - Familiarity with
regional and global infrastructure history, developments, trends, and disruptions
