In this role, you will be providing technical training to all field staff (Union and Non-Union) utility service and pipeline contractors by delivering technical training modules and programs in both classroom settings, labs and on-site or field settings.

What you will do:

  • Accountable to review leading and lagging indicators through written and practical examinations to ensure employee knowledge retention. This includes problem solving capabilities when indicators suggest change is not being retained.
  • Ability to influence and educate field operations to ensure adherence and compliance; ultimately to ensure field operation safety.
  • Using operations experience and knowledge to optimally plan and deliver the technical skills program to ensure employee safety and technical proficiency.
  • Collaboration with quality management and incident investigation groups to incorporate lessons learned into training programs.
  • Provide technical training in classroom settings, hands on, labs and onsite or field settings.
  • Provide content expertise to the technical training learning developers for program design and updates for training material and make suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop props and scenarios that complement the training modules for hands on training.
  • Maintenance and safety of training labs and streetscape.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records for all training provided to staff.
  • Field Support to front line staff as required.
  • On Call for operations emergency response rotation optional.

Who you are:

You have the following education & experience:

  • Related university degree and six‐plus years' experience OR eight‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Strong ability to communicate and train to all levels both technical and non-technical content.
  • Communications skills
  • ability to communicate clearly to ensure high quality training.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of field policy and procedures for equipment and tools.
  • Interpersonal, organizational, planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to operate software systems such as MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

Following are the preferred skills:

  • Related Adult Education or training experience.
  • Gas Pipeline Inspector License.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires some travelling (1520%). Valid G License and responsible driving record is required for the role.
- _You will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing._
- _This role does not offer relocation assistance._
