As the Senior Producer/ Associate Director, Production, you will lead the delivery of a wide range of production projects owning integrated campaign production from end to end acting as the voice of production at the table. You are collaborative, buttoned down, well-connected in the production industry and keen to work with internal teams and external partners to make incredible work come to life. The successful applicant will be comfortable owning a range of campaign deliverables across multiple platforms including large broadcast shoots, stunts, social, print and digital assets. You'll also be comfortable managing production freelancers or more junior producers.

You will be accountable for scheduling, scoping, execution and troubleshooting, and handle a variety of other related tasks to ensure not only projects run smoothly but to enhance the creative through production. You will report to Robyn Smith, VP & General Manager of Cossette West.   • Work across multiple platforms (broadcast, digital and print) to produce creatively-powered initiatives.
  • Be a part of campaign briefs to identify and document future project scope including budgets, timelines and assumptions.
  • Closely collaborate across departments, participate and enhance the creative ideas during production by researching, location scouting, casting and ultimately bringing together the right execution team.
  • Handle estimations, negotiations, approvals and cost tracking (project budgets, crew / hourly rates, invoicing, reconciliations and receipt management) for assigned projects.
  • Create and manage schedules, ensuring responsibilities are noted across all milestones and communicated diligently to appropriate team members.
  • Work closely with the Director & collaborate with creative teams to create storyboards, shot lists and production mood boards
  • Keep up with creatively-driven campaigns to proactively bring new innovative ideas and solutions to the table.
  • Projects may include full-scale 360 productions, broadcast spots, TV/radio adapts and digital revisions, content, animatics / test materials, stills shoots, OOH, print, case study videos, new business pitch materials and more.
  • Own ACTRA union agreements and talent tracking.
  • Manage external vendors, crews, Production Partners and talent.
  • Manage and work with post-production team to log and ingest incoming footage, manage edit reviews, colour & sound needs, consolidate feedback and approvals.
  • Take ownership for preparing, circulating and updating status trackers, meeting recap notes and any necessary financial paperwork such as completion reports.
  • Work collaboratively with other internal teams to support the production.
  • Manage the logistical needs of a production - including but not limited to - ordering necessary equipment, preparing and updating call sheets, shooting schedules, location agreements, insurance, risk assessments and talent contracts (ACTRA, UDA, non-union).
  • Organize travel arrangements for production staff, cast and crew; can include air travel, accommodations, carnets, work permits, location releases and visas.
  • Foster interdepartmental relationships and contribute to talent pools / freelance database whilst building a go-to network.
  • Lead, inspire and be a champion for production within the agency, cross-training teams and being the voice of production at the table.

what you'll bring to the table.

  • 7+ years of experience in a Producer role within an advertising agency or production company (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques
  • Integrated production experience across a range of formats
  • Ability to manage and inspire a growing team
  • Experience with live-action pre and post-production workflows
  • Experience with ACTRA talent management, UDA
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and workstreams
  • Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and ability to access vendor quality
  • Growth mindset to identify opportunities and profitably manage productions
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to problem solve and identify solutions within a complex environment
  • Ability to collaborate and be a valued and respected member of the team
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and working with daily time constraints
  • Talent for anticipating needs and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Professional judgment for handling confidential information
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines
