Reporting to the Fluid Services Manager and under the direction of the Team Lead - Vac and Water Services, the Swamper is responsible for assisting crew members, performing shop maintenance, and supporting the vac and water services business line.

This position will also be expected to support other service lines in the off season. This is a junior/entry level position and is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operators in the safe operation of all units.
  • Assist with getting crews ready to go out on jobs.
  • Ensure the job site placement of the equipment is safe, stable, and secure.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the operator.
  • Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices. Follow safety standards set by Magnum and the customer.
  • Safely and efficiently load and chain down equipment for transport.
  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections by following Magnum's policies and procedures for routine maintenance.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, timesheets, etc.
  • Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are in a clean state and operating properly.
  • Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and wash bay.
  • Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas.
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications - Required

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions.
  • Willing to travel for assignments, for up to two weeks at a time. Accommodations will be provided.
  • Willing to support other business lines in the off season.
  • Able to work overtime and travel.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Qualifications - Looking For

  • Previous experience in the vac and water services industry, preferably in a Swamper role.
  • Worked in a similar environment (shop sites, remote locations).
  • Paperwork and computer skills as well as the ability to make timely submissions.
  • Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and have the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Interest in obtaining a Class 1 driver's license.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Understands the importance of safety.
  • Team player and customer service focused.
  • Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.

  • Possesses safety tickets.
  • Experience dealing with customers.
