Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor daytoday operations of assigned area
  • Manage employee hours and performance.
  • Effectively train and develop employees in fundamentals of production.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and OHS Standards requirements are followed.
  • Promote work place safety by complying with OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) safety regulations and procedures, participating in safetyrelated trainings, incident reviews and corrective actions.
  • Monitor product quality and work with the QA department to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Monitor employee attendance/absenteeism and hold employees accountable as appropriate within established company policies and practices
  • Develop relationship with maintenance staff to review Preventative Maintenance (PM) scheduling and communicate equipment issues to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned when required.
  • Takes part in required training programs.

Required skills:

  • Communicates effectively and candidly communicates clearly and directly, approachable, relates well with others.
  • Teamwork / team player is open to diverse ideas, works collaboratively, holds self and others accountable.
  • Leads through positive influence demonstrates strong character, builds partnerships.
  • Safety awareness identifies and corrects employee behavior and conditions affecting employee safety, upholds safety standards. Plays a part on the Safety Team, including Hazard Analysis and investigations.

Key Knowledge/
Experiences:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of GMP's, SOP's, HAACP, OHS and other quality and safety programs in food processing environments.
  • Good math and computer skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required, including weekends.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English
  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus

Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend and stoop. The employee must be able tp push/pull product racks, manual or automated pallet jacks and other equipment. Frequent flexing, extending and turning of the neck and head are required.

Work Conditions:

  • Exposure to noisy, dusty, refrigerated and hot environments
  • Working in a fastpaced environment

Job Types:

From $21.00 per hour
