Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis. The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Centre. This iconic Montreal hotel was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms, and can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities within the hotel. The incumbent in this position plays a crucial role in preserving the establishment's infrastructure and equipment, as well as in training maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the hotel.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks, including repairing basic equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to plan and allocate tasks within the maintenance team to ensure 24/7 coverage in case of emergencies.
  • Monitor maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Train and mentor maintenance personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety standards and best practices.
  • Manage inventories of spare parts and tools necessary for maintenance.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance needs are considered in the hotel's activity planning.
  • Identify and promptly resolve technical issues and breakdowns, minimizing disruptions to guests.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong technical skills in electricity, plumbing, mechanics, and other areas of general maintenance.
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team, with excellent communication and management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and the importance of rigorous adherence.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving orientation.
  • Flexibility to work on a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
