As a Health Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing essential care and support to individuals in need.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with daily living activities.


Some Key Duties:

  • Provide personalized assistance with daily living activities
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary requirements
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Health Care Aide Certificate
  • Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration practices
  • Familiarity with home care, assisted living or nursing home environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with Elders/residents
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation or Basic Life Support
  • Hepatitis B, tetanus vaccinations and TB testing required
  • Speaking and understanding Cree would be an asset


WDHA/KSF prefers the most qualified person for hire on the basis of credentials, experience, availability and other skills; and preference will be given to existing residents of Wabasca, Sandy Lake or Calling Lake, Alberta.
