Site: St Mary's General Hospital

City: Kitchener, ON.

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: $19.03/hr.

Job Description:
  • Conducting proactive and reactive security patrols and responding to incidents during assigned shifts.
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service skills, especially when dealing with individuals under stress or requiring medical assistance.
  • Being physically fit and capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Performing various preventive and responsive tasks, including interior and exterior patrols within the hospital premises.
  • Providing necessary Use of Force/Restraint as per the Mental Health Act.
  • Offering security escort services to staff and visitors upon request.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activities and service calls.
  • Producing precise reports following investigations or reportable incidents promptly.
  • Investigating and following up on incidents, writing reports, handling door opening requests, and reviewing CCTV footage.
  • Warning individuals of rule violations and evicting or apprehending violators using force when required.
Requirements:
  • Valid Immunization Record including MMR, Varicella, and 2 TB Skin Tests.
  • First Aid CPR - Level C Certification.
  • COVID Vaccination Status.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Proficiency in English (both oral and written).
  • Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB).
  • Applicants without these certifications can participate in Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program before their onboarding to meet position requirements.

Certification Requirements (All)
Immunization Record, COVID Double Vaccinated, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, Valid Ontario Security License.
