The Opportunity:

McKay Métis Contracting is seeking an experienced Lead Hand. Camp is provided. Flights to and from Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.

The Role:

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Lead Hand is responsible for supervising the day-to-day site operations for their area(s).

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with daily operational activities for assigned work areas.
  • Ensuring work activities are performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate work as required.
  • Ensure all required paperwork including but not limited to; time sheets, FLRA's,
work orders, maintenance requests are submitted in a timely manner with any
required company and or client signatures.

  • Represent the company as a liaison to help resolve any customer, employee, or
contractor concerns in a professional manner.

  • Ensure all site rules are communicated to employees and adhered to at all times.
  • Support field operations in all aspects.
  • Provide leadership in safety and quality performance and ensure due diligence in
client and regulatory compliance.

  • Reporting to Department Managers divisional concerns, issues, and performance
of the team

  • Contribute to the training and mentorship program for all new hires.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and
as required by the needs of the business.

  • Supervise daily operational activities for assigned work areas. Ensures work
activities are performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner

  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • OSSA/BSO/CSO certificate
  • Previous experience with combo trucks considered an asset

Schedule:

  • 14 days on, 7 days off, 11.5hour shifts.
