Position Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging department is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Patient Access Clerk II to join their team.

The Patient Access Clerk is responsible to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging & Laboratory or designate for providing a variety of clerical duties to assist with the efficient and effective operation of D.I.

department.
Department/Unit/Program Description

The Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI) offers a variety of services to inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Modalities offered include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammography (including Ontario Breast Screening OBSP), Echocardiography and non-invasive IR procedures.
Orthopedic fracture clinics run multiple days per week, adding to the variety of patients seen. Patient complexity ranges based on individual patient needs.
Essential Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • D.I. testing required
  • Keyboarding skills and minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. with high degree of accuracy testing required
  • Ability to deal effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff, patients, physicians and the public
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated professional manner
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job as per the current physical demands analysis
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting
  • Trained in EPIC preferred training can be provided, but must pass required testing
  • PACS experience
  • Previous registration or booking experience
Hours of Work
Must be available to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights), including weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
