Full Time – Temporary (8 weeks- Canada Summer Job) (Non-Union)

SCHEDULE:
35 hours per week (flexibility required as needed)

Executive Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (BRCCED) is a provincial leader in the Deaf community.

Our goal is to provide care and opportunities in a communication-rich environment that enhances the quality of life of those we serve.

We adopt a person-centered approach that aims to support and make a positive impact in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.


Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the President, the Multi media Designer will be responsible for developing and managing various social media platforms.


PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develop learning and development content tailored to the specific needs of deaf and deaf-blind clients in alignment with team requirements
  • Collaborate with day program staff to strategize and create a framework for virtual learning materials incorporating instructional design principles for deaf clients
  • Produce and update web-based content utilizing established client-side web-programming languages and applications
  • Suggest suitable virtual learning approaches and materials based on learning theory for project goals
  • Create multimedia content for virtual learning, such as audio, video, graphics, animations, and interactive content with relevant, modern technologies
  • Work with subject matter experts to research, choose, and assess suitable technologies, tools, and applications to meet project goals
  • Contribute as part of a cohesive team to carry out the planning, execution, and assessment of virtual learning initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing studies in Digital/Social Marketing or related fields
  • Familiarity with various Social Media platforms
  • Proficiency in Digital Media creation
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Premier, and Photoshop
  • Experience in Digital Photography and Video production is advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office is a plus
  • Familiarity with standard office administrative practices and procedures
  • Strong writing abilities, critical thinking, and capability to perform well under pressure
  • Flexible work hours to meet internal/external demands
  • Background in project management and event coordination is a bonus
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Holder of a valid Ontario full G driver's license
  • Knowledge of ASL or willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in French/LSQ is an asset


Canada Summer Jobs Requirements

  • Age between 15 to 30 years as per Canada Summer Jobs prerequisites
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number
  • Ability to commit to a full 8-week period at 30 hours per week
