Situated in the heart of Regina, the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) District is the largest interconnected event complex in Canada and is the centre of sport, business, and entertainment for the community.

REAL is a not-for-profit municipal corporation, governed by a Board of Directors, that acts as a steward of all assets on the 100-acre property which is owned by the City of Regina.

Our history is long standing and began in 1884 when an enthusiastic group of people organized Regina's first ever agricultural fair.


Since then, we have played host to events large and small and over the years, our main signature events were formed: Queen City Ex, Canadian Western Agribition, Canada's Farm Show, FROST, and Truth and Reconciliation Day.

We are the proud home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Regina Pats, Futbol Club Regina, University of Regina Cougars Hockey, Hockey Regina, and many other recreational sports, concerts, tradeshows, conferences and conventions of all shapes and sizes.

The Manager, Marketing has a primary focus to generate brand awareness for REAL by planning, leading and implementing marketing strategies, market research and marketing project management for the team.

Leading the development, implementation and measurement of marketing plans, advertising and promotional campaigns and associated materials this position will propel REAL towards increased revenue, heightened brand recognition and exceptional customer service results.


WHAT YOU WILL DO
This role leads, oversees and manages Marketing activities and promotional programs, strategies and services to support event, entertainment and recreational requirements by:

  • Managing the creative development process by developing service standards/timelines and approving creative execution to ensure consistency with brand standards. Participates and leads the development of a consistent brand promise, which is evident in all marketing materials and activities
  • Leading Marketing initiatives for REAL, to promote and support al REAL events and offerings
  • Leading the team of marketing professionals in the development, delivery and evaluation of integrated marketing initiatives, which support the work of REAL's internal programming and event departments
  • Undertaking and analyzing market research to understand audiences and applies that research to ensure marketing and promotional efforts are effective in reaching intended audiences and driving desired results
  • Partnering with the department's Communications resources and strategies, oversees all promotional activity by directing message development, creative design, ad placement, and the overall coordination of promotional channels and messaging.
  • Creates marketing opportunities to increase traffic and sales while increasing overall customer engagement and awareness of REAL and its offerings; Monitors and acts upon market trends to make recommendations on brand positioning and promotional activity to drive results for REAL

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field required. A combination of related education and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing/promotional campaigns with experience leading content and creative execution which aligns with brand standards.
  • Experience analyzing market research for the development of marketing strategies.
  • Experience using traditional and digital marketing channels and their uses for reaching various audience segments.
  • Sales experience and experience in the tourism/hospitality, sporting, or events and entertainment industries is preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset. Working hours may vary based on operational requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
