The TDI Business Operations Controls (BOC) function is the cornerstone in the first (1B) of the three lines of defense model that TDBG utilizes for ensuring the effective management of risk.


Primary automation focus is on three key areas:

  • Automation of existing Manual Controls
  • Automation of Controls Testing and Monitoring
  • Controls process simplification.
In addition, we have a core reporting accountability to ensure TD Insurance operates within it's risk appetite.

The position also requires flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment and ad-hoc projects while balancing regular/routine priorities and contributing to overall team spirit and success.


Job Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a relevant postsecondary program
  • Support the development and management of TDI BOC 1B Integrated Strategy
  • Support the development a framework for oversight, tracking and reporting on Strategic Plan and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
  • Development and management of forecasting & planning framework/tools ie: driverbased models by business pillar, FTE planning, productivity tracking, benefit realization and value measurement
  • Support the fiscal business planning/forecasting cycle based on results as well as communicate monthly insights
  • Support the development of reporting for Sr. Executive audiences
  • Define process maps and documentation for controls automation pipeline and opportunity assessments
  • Support the delivery of the automation roadmap, including integrated implementation of automated solutions across multiple functional areas and stakeholders

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) & MS Teams
  • Innovative thinker with continuous improvement mentality
  • Business acumen with the ability to distil complex information, develop business cases and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations
  • Great communication skills and ability to develop effective executive presentations
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and evolving business environment, comfortable with ambiguity and complexity
  • Knowledge of various project methodologies, including Agile, is an asset
