Roles and responsibilities


We are currently looking to fill one
Permanent Full-time position in
Norfolk County for a blended position that is Part-time
Tiered Exercise Program (TEP) Facilitator and Part-time
Personal Support Worker (PSW).

Totaling
35 hours per week.

You may be eligible for the Ontario PSW Return of Service Incentive program. Recent PSW graduates could receive $10,000 for 12 months of service.

Access to a reliable vehicle is needed to drive between client sites.

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Duties include the following:

  • Assists consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
  • Personal care Lifts and Transfers Rising/retiringBowel and bladder proceduresMeal preparation and feedingRange of motion exercisesOther light housekeeping duties.
  • Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.

Tiered Exercise Program Facilitator Duties include:

  • Provide support to seniors in their own home with a 12-week program
  • Facilitate, when needed, group exercise programs to seniors
  • Assist with documenting their outcomes of the exercise program
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting statistical data about the program and the client
  • Work independently in the community and or with community partners

Qualifications and experience

Background / Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Consumer based care.
  • Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
  • Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
