Reporting to the Director of Resettlement and Settlement Services, the
Manager of Settlement Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery of settlement services to a diverse and growing group of newcomer immigrants, refugees and other migrants to Canada.

The role includes providing leadership and management of a team of staff which includes Settlement Social Workers and Settlement Officers, who together provide core settlement services and ensure clients successfully transition from temporary accommodations to community-based service delivery.

The Manager will also oversee itinerant settlement service delivery, managing and developing partnerships in the community to ensure that newcomers can access settlement services both at the ANC as well as in the spaces where they live.

Monitoring, oversight of data collection and management, financial management and reporting are key components of this role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of staff, supporting inperson, digital and hybrid program delivery to meet program outcomes and ensure contractual agreements are met, including federal/provincial privacy and reporting laws
  • Provide internal oversight of program activities, ensure compliance with program and agency policies and procedures
  • Ensure all client and program documentation is accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with teams in the organization to identify and support priority cases, issues and strengths
  • Provide leadership and develop opportunities to deepen the working knowledge of program staff to ensure appropriate and timely service delivery to immigrants and refugees, regardless of status in Canada
  • Proactively identify program challenges and obtain workable resolution, and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Oversee the recording of data and reports on a regular basis ensuring integrity of the data and reporting timelines are adhered to
  • Actively monitor and continuously improve program statistics and reporting
  • Identify and leverage promising practices and progressive tools from a wide range of sources and partners to enhance program quality
  • Develop, maintain, and expand partnerships with relevant community agencies and partners
  • Remain current within the settlement sector drawing on provincial/regional/national networks and key resources
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postsecondary degree in human services/social sciences or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in leading and coaching teams in a service delivery environment
  • Effective in data management and analysis
  • Strong report writing skills (both narrative and statistical)
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with a diverse client group
  • Ability to develop networks and maintain contacts within the broader community
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process an asset
  • Ability to speak a second language is an asset

Conditions of Employment

  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Flexible to work outside of standard core hours ( Monday-Friday, 9am5pm)
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and ready to access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
