Job summary:
This position reports to the President of ACC & CCC and is accountable to leads teams responsible for both risk and collections:

  • Align risk management strategy across the organization, portfolio management, credit risk management oversight and developing and executing enterprise risk framework
  • Manage the servicing of growing portfolios; design and implement processes to effectively manage receivables; directly assist on all strategic matters relating to budget management, costbenefit analysis, forecasting needs, and internal controls as related to Collections and servicing of accounts.

  • Actively promote a strong culture of Credit Risk across all CanCap lines of businesses to support the growth strategy.
  • Manage, coach, and lead an established risk team
  • Develop credit strategies to improve the credit performance by using data, statistical models and advanced analytics tools to optimize risk decisions

  • Introduce creative and unconventional ideas to offer recommendations and solve problems
  • Provide leadership and 2nd line support to the development of new business strategies
  • Develop, improve, and strengthen the Credit Reporting & Monitoring framework to meet the needs of various external & internal stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation by closely collaborating with Enterprise and other Risk functions through experimenting with new data, analytics approaches, and models
  • Conduct adhoc analysis related to risk management, investor services, product, and operations
  • Analyze portfolio performance at a granular customer / segment level on an ongoing basis. Identify trends and conduct rootcause analysis to isolate key performance drivers. Communicate findings and recommendations to the senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • Promote operational excellence with a strict focus on identifying and managing Credit Risk

Repayment Services:

  • Manage, coach and provide leadership to the Repayment Services Department
  • Ensure operational procedures are efficient and effective to ensure alignment with results
  • Provide advice, guidance and insight regarding new/emerging situations and opportunities to CEO and President
  • Develop, maintain and deliver management reports and analysis which measures departmental performance and project status
  • Develop and provide oversight on policies, procedures related to Repayment Services
  • Deliver routine reports on monitoring and controls for highrisk accounts, with a focus on covenant breaches, delinquencies, results of annual reviews, and maturity
  • Ensure timely and consistent preparation, distribution, and completion of reports, ensuring proactive identification and appropriate action on issues.
  • Support the day to day management of high risk accounts and the restructuring of loans to an acceptable level of risk to maximize recovery
  • Familiar with Securitization of assets and how performance of the portfolio effects existing MSA's
  • Able to leverage experience to identify and implement the appropriate risk mitigating actions, recommend tools/strategies to President and CEO, to take advantage of growth opportunities and help prevent/mitigate loss' on the portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience running call centers in multiple centers and oversight on secured and unsecured portfolios
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience leading through change.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and indepth knowledge of auto finance and consumer unsecured finance.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships, including with external partners.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to brief clearly and succinctly.
  • Welldeveloped quantitative/qualitative analysis skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset
