3) YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF STOCK MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY IN A BAR OR BEER VENDOR.
***The stock manager is primarily responsible for purchasing, receiving and managing stock and supplies for the bar, vendor, and housekeepers.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Count/scan vendor and bar stock inventory and upload data into the Ideal POS system then run Stocktake Report.
  • Analyze variances on Stocktake Report by recounting stock or determining reasons for shortages advise the owner of large or repeated shortages.
  • Replenish stock by submitting orders to vendors through MLCC by deadlines to meet minimum stock levels.
  • Receive stock and sign bill of lading to confirm accuracy of order received, noting any variances or backordered items to ensure they are received at a later date.
  • Enter inventory received in the Ideal POS system then confirm and update product costs.
  • Maintain product information in Ideal POS to ensure items numbers, UPC codes and description remain uptodate.
  • Run Ideal Sync process to update alcohol sales prices with MLCC.
  • Run Inventory by Location reports to ensure products are stored accurately.
  • Run sales reports to determine which products sell and which don't then set minimum and maximum order levels.
  • Approve invoices for payment once goods or services are received.
  • Gather bills of lading, invoices, receipts and reports to send to the accountant to prepare the monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly sales reports to obtain vendor totals and provide information to accountants.
  • Ensure coolers are fully stocked and products are displayed professionally in the vendor and bar train staff as needed.
  • Ensure the vendor is clean, safe and organized train staff as needed.
  • Meet with vendors to discuss promotions and video display requirements.
  • Ensure POS systems are operational and reporting inventory correctly, contact the supplier to troubleshoot software or equipment problems.
  • Order POS paper rolls and any other vendor or bar supplies.
  • Report any employee, vendor, customer, or government complaint/issues to the owner.
  • Report any issues beyond the scope of the position such as policy noncompliance or criminal activity to management (e.g. graffiti on building, missing or stolen stock, etc.).
  • Maintain confidentiality of all business operations throughout and beyond employment.
  • Any other duties as assigned and appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Experience ordering stock and managing inventory, preferably in a hotel or beer vendor.
  • Experience using stock management software, preferably Ideal POS.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Must have strong math skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to organize stock in an effective manner that works best for staff and customers.
  • Must be able to use and troubleshoot problems with vendor software and POS systems.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
  • Must have effective teamwork skills with the ability to work alone, manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Knowledge of liquor and lottery licensing requirements is an asset.
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of the position: must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift heavy boxes and equipment for several hours per shift.
  • Must be able to work early mornings and have a reliable vehicle to get to work when buses don't run.
