Youth Readiness Support Worker

Temporary Assignment - 12 Months

$60,175.76 to $69,465.98

Areas of Responsibilities:

Participates in the implementation of programs and services regarding CCAS' Readiness Initiative such as; Readiness, Preparing Youth for Interdependency.

Participates in the service delivery to youth who will be transitioning out of the child welfare system.


Organizes and participates in internal readiness working groups in the following areas of the Clinical Framework; In House Services and Community Partnerships, Policy Development, Instrumental Supports and New Technology - Including programing, budgeting, and advocacy efforts.

Plans and Coordinates outreach activities and special events.

Co-chair committee meetings with Youth Readiness Lead.

Assists in the facilitation of Readiness Meetings.

Coordinates and facilitates focus group meetings with stakeholders.

Recruits and organizes staff and volunteers to assist in the completion of CCAS' Readiness programs and initiatives.

Tracks and reports all relevant statistical data to support CCAS' Readiness initiative.


Develops and maintains contacts and builds strong working partnerships with community agencies and organizations to help CCAS with our Readiness strategy and goals.


Works in a safe manner in accordance with the CCAS health and safety policies and procedures and all relevant legislation.

All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Education:

Community College diploma in Social Services or equivalent post secondary diploma/certificate;
Basic knowledge of family dynamics, human growth and behaviour, and normal psychological child development;
Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g., CYFSA and YCJA, and CCAS policies and procedures related to children and youth in care; knowledge of the various forms of maltreatment and ability to be part of an investigation team in relation to allegations;

Knowledge of the Eligibility Spectrum in order to identify child protection concerns and history that are relevant and share this information with the team.

Knowledge of family group decision-making models.


Demonstrated investigative and analytical skills in conducting research to identify individuals using various search techniques including the use of social media, and other databases.

Experience in conducting file reviews, with a goal to construct genograms


Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, integrating the values in the CCAS Mission Statement, the principles of equity, justice, non-discrimination and accessibility into practice, service delivery and team relationships.

Demonstrated written communication and computer literacy/skills

Strong time management, organizational, problem solving and presentation skills

Valid Ontario Driver's license

Assets:

Familiarity with Child Welfare

Familiarity working with diverse communities

Familiarity of relevant community organizations

The successful incumbent will be licensed to drive in Ontario and required to be the principal driver of a vehicle for use on Society business.
