Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Superior North Catholic District School Board. The successful candidate will provide assessment and support to children and youth, ensuring their rights are respected and addressed in accordance with legislation and board standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment of children and youth's strengths and needs
  • Ensure the rights of children and youth are respected and addressed
  • Provide interventions and in-classroom support to children in accordance with scope of practice and collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in board and school committee work, staff training, student placements, and consultation with other staff and the board multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Child and Youth Worker degree/diploma from a recognized and accredited university or college
  • Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (asset)
  • Experience in children's mental health or related field of practice
  • Knowledge of theories and practices applicable to children's mental health field
  • Knowledge and experience in working with children who require mental health and/or behavioral support
  • Minimum of one-year experience (preferred)
Conditions of Employment
  • Successful completion of all safety training courses
  • Must undergo a successful vulnerable police record check
