About The Role

The Financial Controller, will support the Head of Finance in managing financial and administrative aspects of the business, facilitating appropriate financial, legislative requirements in the Americas and Chrysos international expansion.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Oversee monthly revenue accounting, including journals and invoicing, to ensure accurate and timely reporting plus balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to debtors, creditors, lease receivables, prepayments and vendor extended trading accounts, across global entities on individual and group basis.
  • As part of a finance team, complete day to day finance operations, on an Australian basis, including but not limited to Accounts Payable and Receivable, bank reconciliations and accruals / prepayment accounting.
  • Oversee monitor AP & AR controls, including monthly collections and debtor management
  • In conjunction with Finance Business partners contribute to financial advice to senior management and other departments, offering insights and recommendations on financial matters, including potential risks and opportunities in jurisdictions managed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards. Stay current with changes in financial regulations that may affect the company and consider with other regional Financial Controllers and Head of Finance group implications.
  • Monitor and assess operating costs and overhead expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and work with department heads to implement cost-control measures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including accounting, sales, marketing, and operations, to gather data, align financial planning with business operations, and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Provide Financial Control Clients (Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Analysis in particular) with accurate and relevant financial information to support reporting on a management, taxation and statutory basis.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual financial control cycle, ensuring that Group Reporting are able to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Identify and assess financial risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate them. Implement strategies to enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Ensure transfer pricing transactions processed and settled as per transfer pricing and other policies.
  • Oversee daily treasury operations, including the management of cash transactions, wire transfers, and bank account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the Analysis financial results against budget and forecast to identify variances and their drivers. Provide investigation to ensure explanations for variances and collaborate with stakeholders to address issues or capitalize on opportunities.

Your Contribution

  • In conjunction with Operations Team facilitate stock counts, develop and maintain CoGS accounting and controls.
  • Working with the International Tax Manager prepare monthly, quarterly and other taxation lodgment's, assist with annual tax returns and lodgments as required across controlled jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation to demonstrate that the company's intercompany transactions comply with arm's length principles. Ensure that transfer pricing policies are established and adhered to for all cross-border transactions between related entities within the organization. Ensure compliance with local transfer pricing regulations.
  • Assist tax analysis and support for cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • In conjunction with the Manager FP & A contribute to the development, coordination, and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and senior management to set financial targets and allocate resources.
  • With Manager FP & A provide financial analysis and insights to senior management, including variance analysis, budget vs. actual comparisons, and recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • In conjunction with Group Reporting to enable their facilitation of the quarterly and annual reporting process, ensuring compliance with stock exchange requirements, regulatory authorities, and listing rules. Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation during external audits.
  • Contribute to preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Collaborate with the International Tax Manager and tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, compliance with tax laws, and the optimization of tax strategies.
  • In conjunction with regional Financial Controllers and Head of Finance, month end and annual financial, taxation and operational reporting process against required timelines and jurisdictions, managing local service providers as required to ensure timely lodgment and payment.
  • Engage with professional advisors as required to solve reporting, jurisdictional and taxation matters as they arise and develop plans and structure to operate on a global basis.
  • Contribute to compliance with corporate governance practices and policies, including financial disclosure and transparency requirements.
  • In conjunction with Head of Treasury, Analysis and Development oversee cash flow management, including the management of cash balances, short-term investments, and working capital. Develop and execute strategies to optimize cash resources.
  • Actively contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, and meet all obligations of personal 'duty of care'

Who You Are

  • Post Graduate Accounting Qualifications (CA / CPA)
  • 5 - 7 Years Experience in Similar Role or Business Services
  • Strong Relationship Building Skills - proven
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail on all written documentation and communications
  • Ability to prioritize & work autonomously

Desirable

  • French / Spanish language skills
