Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer.

Key contributor in the Project Engineering Department, focusing on managing and implementing a variety of projects, activities, deliverables within or relating to Manufacturing Engineering on the AOPS, CCGV and CSC Programs. Works closely with all aspects of Engineering Groups and other stakeholders including Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and Programs. This role focuses on risk management, creative solutions, stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement, and future maintenance using strategic methods such as "plan, do, check act".

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

· Education: Degree or other tertiary qualifications in a discipline of Engineering or Project Management, or equivalent experience

o P. Eng/CET designation given preference.

o PMP certification given preference.

o Lean Six Sigma certification given preference.

· Experience: 2-5 years' experience in Project Management or Engineering on large, complex defense or manufacturing projects

· Experience in project controls, tools, performance management, scheduling, and project delivery considered an asset.

· Experience in roles requiring coordination with multiple organizations considered an asset.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

· Managing, driving and/or executing assigned tasks, activities, or deliverables within the Engineering Group as required

· Develop plans, processes and procedures as required to support the execution of project milestones.

· Proactively anticipates/manages risks and unexpected problems to consistently deliver results and drive improvement.

· Managing the coordination of Engineering activities as they relate to the efficient delivery of project outputs.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
