Purpose


Provides strategic direction, leadership, governance and oversight for Employee/Labour Relations & Staff Ombuds Office globally ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads and drives global ER/LR case management practices, data reporting and trend analysis for delivery to Global HR, business leaders, executives and the Board of Directors, designed to inform and influence policy and program development.
  • Owns workplace policies and programs e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, Harassment, Performance Management. Partners with Business HR, business leaders, the Employment Law Group and Country Legal teams to understand workplace policy and program needs. Leads and drives a Community of Expertise for employee and labour relations and other workplace related policies, including internal and external analysis and policy/program/practice development and implementation.
  • Leads and drives a team of Employee Relations professionals accountable for providing employees and people managers with daytoday guidance and in leading the investigation and resolution of medium to highrisk workplace issues. This may also include support for large scale initiatives e.g. unit closures, restructures.
  • Leads and drives a team of Labour Relations professionals accountable for labour negotiations on a global basis.
Education / Experience

  • University degree, with Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or CHRL) designation.
years of experience in Employee Relations, Labour Relations or Human Resources.

  • Expert knowledge of employee relations and labour relations.
  • Knowledge of negotiations and collective bargaining process with expert concept knowledge of government policies/legislation.
  • Expert conflict/alternative dispute resolution skills: Initiate and influence vendor relationships to maximize value of services.
  • Experience managing and working with teams across locations and geographies.
  • Ability to multitask while remaining organized; able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and French are an asset.
