Job Title: HVAC Technician (Nuclear Industry)

Location: Peterborough, Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems following relevant standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration system malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform facilities maintenance tasks related to plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Support fuel technicians on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for system upgrades and installations.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC issues using technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Guide and support junior technicians.

Required Competencies:

  • Experience in delivering training.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within job boundaries.
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends.

Safety Awareness:

  • Identify and address safety issues.
  • Monitor corrective actions for safety.

Quality:

  • Adhere to procedures to ensure quality output.
  • Take necessary actions to maintain quality.

Contributing to Team Success:

  • Support team goals.
  • Engage and inform team members.

Qualifications:

  • Valid HVAC technician license/certificate.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with HVAC program completion.
  • Experience as a licensed HVAC Technician, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components.
  • Experience with gas-fired boiler systems and industrial plumbing maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Physically fit for industrial work environments.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Desired:

Previous HVAC and nuclear industry experience.
