ROLE OBJECTIVE:


Reporting to the VP, Product Management, the Product Manager is responsible for the development and management of Environics Analytics' (EA) product lines and services life cycles, directing the development of new products, software-driven solutions and automated research packages.

In this role, the Senior Product Manager collaborates with all EA teams, from software development to marketing, to develop and execute a strategic plan for the company's entire suite of products and services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

To effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the employee must be able to do the following:

  • Develop market based knowledge of all competitors and their product and pricing strategies.
  • Review all existing products by revenue and by frequency and determine which products may require additional PM or marketing resources to reach their potential.
  • Evaluate and develop all potential products emerging from:
  • New sources (R&D)
  • Repackaged concepts (i.e. existing attributes packaged for a specific market or purpose)
  • Client (internal or external) initiated concepts
  • Competitive products
  • Support the data and software developers in building the "right" product, researching and prioritizing features to ensure product success.
  • Design product specifications and participate in consultation with potential clients to refine specifications.
  • Identify technology and data components required to develop the solution
  • Oversee the development of the solution
  • Program some aspects depending on the match of skills that are identified
  • Document, design training and work with marketing to develop pricing, advertising and marketing plans for the product
  • Oversee the "productization" of our standard data products
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Education
  • Degree in Business, Geography and/or Marketing

Experience - 3-5 years of experience in:

  • Designing and marketing purpose-built business solutions for target marketing and site location
  • Significant experience in the concepts, practices and procedures of software development and marketing
