Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the General Supervisor of Electrical Maintenance, the Underground Electrical Supervisor coordinates workers and services within their department.

They assume the following responsibilities:

  • Adhering to company health and safety requirements and recommendations.
  • Managing and mobilizing their work team, which includes electricians and instrumentation technicians.
  • Managing the department to effectively meet various demands.
  • Recommending changes and procedures to enhance work methods and increase productivity in the short and long term.
  • Handling department hiring processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with maintenance processes.
  • Promoting a partnership relationship with various clients in their sector and attending departmental meetings.
  • Mastering knowledge related to the electrical distribution network of the mining site.
  • Collaborating in the development of preventive maintenance programs for electrical installations.
  • Performing other related tasks associated with this position.

Qualifications

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) or a vocational diploma (DEP) in a relevant discipline. Diverse and relevant experience in the field may compensate for the absence of a diploma.
  • Possess mining modules (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7).
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the electrical code.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience as an underground electrician.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.

Assets

  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite and IT Guide software.
  • Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset due to frequent exchanges with Frenchspeaking team members, facilitating and enhancing internal communications.
  • Experience in a northern context.
