Your Role on our Team:

The Estimator is responsible for providing support on all costing and budgeting related construction projects while assisting designers and trades with product and materials for Homeowners when building their residential home.


In this role, you will:

  • Assists in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;
  • Contributes to client/inhouse design briefs;
  • Facilitates cost control in design development budgets;
  • Prepares, monitors and updates construction budgets;
  • Prepares and reviews construction cost estimates from initial design stage to final working drawings;
  • Prepares and manages tender packages which includes scopes of work and tender documentation for the trades;
  • Prepares the tender analysis based on submitted tenders from the Trades;
  • Research products that homeowners want in their home and designers want to sell;
  • Reviews trade contract final accounts;
  • Receives, reviews and analyses Purchases Change Requests (PCR);
  • Prepares Purchasers change order based on reviewed Purchases Change Requests (PCR);
  • Provides input on cash flow projections and life cycle costs when required;
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

We would like you to have:

  • Post-Secondary Education either a University Degree (Civil Engineering, Architectural or Engineering degree or related discipline) or a College Diploma (Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technologist or related discipline).
  • A minimum of three to five (25) years of relevant work experience in construction management as an Estimator.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook
  • On Screen Takeoff computer programming is an asset
  • Knowledge of residential construction (single family residential
