We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Jr. Estimator to join our dynamic team and help us continue to exceed our clients' expectations.
Position Overview:
As a Jr. Estimator at Ultimate Renovations, you will play a crucial role in supporting our estimating team by preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential renovation projects. You will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that all estimates align with our high standards. You will be supported by our Senior Estimators and Project Managers, as well as our dynamic Design Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for residential renovation projects.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine project scope and costs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain accurate pricing and availability.
• Review and verify subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender documents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of estimates, bids, and project costs.
• Collaborate with the Senior Estimators and Project Managers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
• Assist in the identification of cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new materials or methods.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field an asset but not required.
• Experience in residential construction is an asset.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software and strong proficiency in excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
