Job Summary:

The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the leading events of its kind in the world with an annual attendance of 28,000 and attracts artists, producers, students, and animation fans from around the world.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a major international event This position reports to the Director of Film Operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Corresponding with filmmakers, producers and distributors regarding films and material
  • Handling print traffic and organization
  • Assisting with event logistics and organization
  • Editing of film summaries and copywriting
  • Assisting with various administrative, technical and audiovisual tasks, including:
○ Video editing

○ Installation and takedown of VR and video projections.

○ Archival management of photo and video content.

○ Basic stage management for in-person screenings.

  • Assisting other team members as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong technical experience and skills in any or all of the following:

  • Video editing
  • Film and Video Screening
  • Digital media production (knowledge of Adobe Suite, HTML and web design, A/V equipment, and virtual reality)
  • Strong written English skills; French and/or other languages
  • Knowledge of basic archival practice for photo and video is an asset.

Additional Qualifications Required:

Eligible to participate in Ontario's Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:

  • An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)
  • Live in Ontario
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
a. Established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular or maternity/parental benefits ONLY)

b. Paid employee payroll premiums, i.e., employed in Canada, in five of any of the last ten years.

Remuneration:

$620 (gross) per week for 32 hours ($19.275 average per hour) provided by the Province of Ontario.
