The opportunity:


The role of Project Governance Analyst exists within the IT Portfolio Management & Project Management Office (ITPM & PMO) to support the delivery of programs and projects within the mandate of the ITPM & PMO.


The analyst has three major functions:

  • Works with projects and teams to provide effective, timely and quality program/project delivery support including but not limited to: project planning; resource management; issue and risk management; status and reporting management; cost and schedule management; and project close-out.
  • Support University IT Governance processes including working with proponents, committees, and IST staff to ensure processes are as smooth and complete as possible,
  • Support and maintain the IST delivery methodology. This includes advising and supporting teams on the appropriate use of the methodology, and harvesting assets to evolve and develop the methodology.

The qualifications and experience we're looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Computer Science (or equivalent), or a college diploma with a specialization in Project Management or Business Analysis required.
  • PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Certification, IIBA Certification, or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum three years of experience in projects in a formalized project management environment in a project support/analyst or Business Analyst role required.
  • Experience with Solution Development Life Cycles and use of project management principles and practices (cx. PMBOK/PRINCE2).
  • Experience with the definition, documentation and tracking of project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of a Microsoft Project or other project management software required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity tools required.
  • Strong practical project management and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Strong planning, organizational, critical thinking, analysis, facilitation, and problemsolving skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail with good follow up skills required.
  • Adaptive to change and able to manage stress effectively required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to exhibit effective time management skills required.
  • Ability to be selfmanaged and with independent judgement and action.
  • Ability to lead and promote change in an administrative environment.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the Project Management or Business Analysis field.
  • Advanced proficiency using Word, Microsoft Project, Visio, and Excel.
