The Job:
Are you a Health and Physical Education enthusiast? Branksome Hall is currently looking for a dynamic individual to join our Senior and Middle School as a part-time (60%) Health and Physical Education Teacher on a 6-month contract basis. The ideal candidate should possess a background in teaching health and physical education, along with a keen understanding of social-emotional learning and diversity.
Your Role:
- Create a supportive class environment that encourages learning and personal growth, focusing on social-emotional learning
- Inspire students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for future education
- Foster positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and staff
- Ensure alignment of curriculum with IB and Ministry of Education standards, promoting inclusivity and differentiation
- Develop engaging and culturally relevant Health and Physical Education programs
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress
- Stay updated on best practices in teaching and learning through professional development opportunities
- Participate actively in curriculum planning and co-curricular activities
- Mentor students as an Advisor and guide them on their academic journey
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education or related field
- Teaching certification or equivalent with Physical Education qualifications
- Minimum of three years' teaching experience
- Strong understanding of IB curriculum is an advantage
- Proficiency in curriculum development and assessment practices
- Experience with Social-Emotional Learning and DEI principles
- Ability to leverage technology effectively for educational purposes
- Passion for teaching and commitment to student growth
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
