JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project Management
    • Coordinate and oversee the Apple Capture Project in Kimberley and Cranbrook by:
      • Facilitating related events based on fruit ripening, mainly between August – October, occasionally on evenings and weekends
      • Ensure proper storage, composting, and/or delivery of all fruit mash
    • Plan/organize one annual pruning workshop in both Kimberley and Cranbrook
    • Build relationships and collaborate with businesses/organizations for group apple pick and press events
  • Coordinate and oversee events at Spooner Park in Cranbrook by continuing Wildsight Kimberley Cranbrook's presence through organized public events and relationship building
  • Coordinate and oversee events at Marysville Eco Park Project in Kimberley by organizing volunteer events, including at least one weed pull event and four maintenance activities
  • Systems Management
    • Ensure project equipment and platforms are functioning properly and kept secure
    • Maintain/update equipment lists and tool share program
  • Additional Management
    • Engage in meetings and social events
    • Train, mentor, and supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers
    • Assist with social media and website content, including photo and video taking
    • Ensure safety measures are followed and deliver reports, photos, and videos of project activities
    • Ensure grant deliverables are met and activities are coordinated with other organizations

    • Self-motivation, organization, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
    • Ability to develop team relationships
    • Proficient in computer skills and Google Drive
    • Community connection

Post-Secondary education and/or relevant experience in fields such as Sustainable Food Systems, Business/Marketing, Environmental Sciences, Event Planning, and Management

Experience in personnel management, budgeting, operations management, working with stakeholders, and customer service

REQUIREMENTS
  • First Aid/CPR certification or commitment to certify
  • Access to computer and internet
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for transporting equipment and fruits
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Contract for 300 hours annually, with varying weekly hours between June – October and November – May
  • Contract rate starting at $26 per hour

Please note September is the most hour-intensive month

The anticipated start date is July 2024 with mentorship by the current Program Coordinator.
