About Us:
Responsibilities:
- Carry out and oversee original and independent research to assist the PIs in achieving their research outcomes in the analysis of subsample selection strategies for shotgun metagenomics analysis in microbial studies.
- Responsible for developing project plans and independently managing deliverables and deadlines, under the supervision of PIs
- Perform statistical analysis and data visualization using R and Python.
- Prepare academic peerreview manuscripts as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- MSc in Biostatistics is required
Experience:
- Experience in independently conducting statistical analyses and/or processing of 16S rRNAsequencing to generate OTU and ASV data
- Experience in preparing and publishing manuscripts
- Experience in Unix cluster environments
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge and background in biostatistics, dimension reduction techniques (e.g., PCA), 16S rRNA sequencing, and shotgun metagenomic sequencing,
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve research goals
- Advanced skills in specialized software for processing microbial sequencing data (e.g., QIIME2, DADA2, Metaphlan)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
